Check4Cancer receives a double nomination in the 2020 Laing Buisson Healthcare Awards

Professor Gordon Wishart is recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ finalist and Check4Cancer is shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Healthcare Outcomes’ category.

Check4Cancer is delighted to announce that Professor Gordon Wishart, founder and Chief Medical Officer of Check4Cancer has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Rising Star’ category of the 2020 Laing Buisson Healthcare Awards. Check4Cancer is also a finalist in the ‘Healthcare Outcomes’ category.

The prestigious Laing Buisson Healthcare Awards celebrate industry excellence at every level of healthcare. The ‘Rising Star’ category acknowledges the significant difference that inspirational and innovative individuals can make in their chosen field.

Since founding Check4Cancer, Professor Wishart has disrupted the way that UK private cancer diagnostic and screening services are delivered by close collaboration with insured and corporate sectors. He is the former Director of the Cambridge Breast Unit and current Professor of Cancer Surgery at ARU School of Medicine, with a strong track record in clinical research and modernisation of cancer services. In 2010 Professor Wishart led a team of scientists that developed the PREDICT breast cancer survival model, used worldwide (www.predict.nhs.uk).

Check4Cancer’s commitment to deliver fast access, streamlined diagnostic cancer pathways, that are audited to ensure delivery of best practice for patients with symptoms of breast and skin cancer, is acknowledged by their nomination in the ‘Healthcare Outcomes’ category. The level of clinical audit that underpins these pathways, and the potential to have a significant positive disruptive impact in cancer treatment, has already led to Check4Cancer being awarded ‘Diagnostic Provider ‘of the year at the annual Health Investor Awards in June 2018.

This year’s sell-out awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on the 19th November 2020. Click here to find out more.
