What is SkinCheck+

SkinCheck+ offers all the benefits of regular SkinCheck mole examination and risk assessment, but also includes a detailed sun damage examination using ultraviolet-imaging technology (face area). An example can be viewed to the right.

Benefits of the ultraviolet-imaging technology available with SkinCheck+

  • During the SkinCheck+ consultation, the UV imager will capture views of the face which will display aspects of the skin that are now visible with this technology. It is possible to zoom in and magnify areas for closer examination. Sun damage features such as brown age spots, red areas and scarring and wrinkling, can be seen.
  • High resolution imaging will allow us to examine every inch of a your face in terms of the pigment, vascular and ageing changes induced by damaging UV radiation.
  • You’ll be able to see if your efforts to reduce the effects of UV damage have been effective and if the measures you are currently using are appropriate.
  • The technology, used in our SkinCheck+ consultation, reveals what lies beneath the facial skin. This allows us to demonstrate any damage that your skin may have sustained so that a targeted treatment plan can be discussed.
  • When using this imaging system the skin expert can highlight any areas of concern regarding your skin’s health and the importance of sun protection measures to minimise the risks of future sun damage and potential skin cancer.

Who is SkinCheck+ for?

SkinCheck+ is suitable for men and women of all ages. Skin cancer is the most common cancer for young people between the ages of 15-35. SkinCheck+ is particularly important for outdoor workers who are twice as likely to develop skin cancer as people who work indoors.

Where can employees have SkinCheck+?

Employees can have a SkinCheck+ on employer premises if suitable facilities are available. The employer needs to provide a room that offers privacy along with a wash hand basin, access to the internet and a couch. This is the most convenient option for employees and also the most cost effective one for employers.

How much does SkinCheck+ cost?

By offering these services to its staff, an employer can achieve up to 25% discount on standard pricing. SkinCheck+ costs £165. For company sponsored campaigns, prices are negotiable depending on company size and the extent of the service offering.
