What is the Prostate Diagnostic Pathway?
The Prostate Diagnostic Pathway is an innovative, streamlined, evidence based rapid access pathway for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
You do not need to have a GP referral* and we will assign you onto one of the two prostate diagnostic pathways available based on your age, symptoms, and raised PSA (prostate specific antigen) level.
*Note: If you have medical insurance with AXA
* AXA requires you to have a GP referral prior to accessing this diagnostic prostate pathway.
Prostate Diagnostic Pathway : Multi Parametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) before consultation OR consultation with a urologist prior to mpMRI
Depending on your symptoms, this pathway will enable you to access a specialist consultant Urologist and if required a mpMRI scan (multi parametric magnetic resonance imaging).
You will be referred to this pathway if you meet the age threshold and have a raised PSA (prostate specific antigen) result .
